Two-year-old Christopher was last seen at the Martin Luther King Jr. Towers playgrounds in New York City, New York on May 18, 1989. His mother had been with him in the park and decided to go to the store for food.
She didn't have Christopher's stroller with her, so she left him in the care of several relatives at the park. When his mother returned half an hour later, Christopher was gone.
The relatives told Christopher's mother that they had seen Christopher playing with a red ball. Christopher didn't bring a red ball to the park and his mother couldn't find one in the park. It apparently disappeared with Christopher.
A 7-year-old boy from Christopher's neighborhood told authorities that he saw him walking on West 111th Street later in the day. According to the boy, Christopher was accompanied by an unidentified African-American male with braided hair.
Christopher's disappearance shares similiarities with the disappearance of 1-year-old Shane Walker, who disappeared from the same playground in August of 1989, three months after Christopher went missing.
Both boys are toddlers of African-American descent, they lived in the same apartment building, disappeared on the same day of the week (which was a Thursday) at roughly the same time (Christopher at 7:00pm and Shane at 5:00pm) and they were both seen playing with the two kids that Shane played with the day he went missing.
Authorities also believe that both boys' cases are connected to a black market baby-ring operation and that 1-month-old Andre Bryant, who was abducted from Brooklyn in 1989 was a victim of that as well.
Christopher's case has never been solved and he has never been found. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, a floral print shirt, blue jeans and green & white sneakers. He has a birthmark shaped like a figure 8 on his back and a burn scar on his thigh.
