Thirteen-year-old Donna left her home in Lexington, North Carolina on March 18, 1981 at around 8:30pm, planning to walk to a friend's house nearby.

She was last seen walking on Hemstead Street. Donna contacted her friend shortly after, but she never arrived at the house and hasn't been seen since.

Donna's older sister, Anita died when she was two years old in 1966. Her family said that she fell out of her high chair and hit her head.

Anita's death was ruled accidental, but in 1999, a reporter who was looking into Donna's disappearance became suspicious about Anita's death and urged the police to re-open the investigation. Authorities reclassified Anita's death as a homicide by child abuse, but nobody has been charged with her death.

Police stated the investigation into Anita's death doesn't change Donna's missing person case and foul play is possible in her case.

Donna is of Caucasian\Native American descent and she has a mole or birthmark on her right arm.

She was last seen wearing a dark blue jacket, orange sweatshirt and jeans. Prior to Donna's disappearance, she had never been to a dentist.
