Eight-year-old Equilla and her mother (who was 8 months pregnant at the time) were sitting on the porch of their home in the Bronx, New York on August 12, 1985.
Her mom was talking to friends around 6:30pm and she saw Equilla running to the corner of Briggs Avenue and 194th St. towards an ice cream truck. Her mother was unable to chase Equilla, but she always came back quickly.
Her cousin saw Equilla in an arcade playing video games on the corner later that evening. She never came home and hasn't been seen since.
When Equilla didn't come home, her mother contacted the police.
An extensive search of Equilla was launched, but there has been no sign of her. Her case has been re-opened by a cold case squad in the New York City Police Department.
Equilla was street-smart and knew her own phone number.
Equilla was last seen wearing a white tank top with yellow and red marks, cut-off blue jeans and light blue sneakers. She has pierced ears, wears glasses, has a scar near her right eye, scar on her right cheek and discolorations on her back & buttocks.
