One-year-old Jovanna Crawford was last seen on June 5, 1981 at her home in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
She was in the care of her mother's boyfriend, Ronald Garrett who told investigators that an unidentified African-American boy about 10 or 11 years old with small braids in his hair arrived at the house at 10:20am and told him that Jovanna's grandparents sent him to get Jovanna.
Ronald thought that the boy was a neighborhood child and allowed him to take Jovanna, who hasn't been seen since. He was later convicted of risk of injury to a minor and was sentenced to a year in prison for giving Jovanna to the boy.
Jovanna's grandparents and great-grandparents occassionally babysat for her in 1981, but they never sent anybody to get her that day.
Ronald maintains his story and says he has nothing to do with Jovanna's disappearance, but foul play is suspected in her case.
Jovanna was last seen wearing a blue & white jumpsuit and she had pierced ears at the time of her disappearance.
As of 2020, Jovanna's case remains unsolved.
