Ten-year-old Shakeima was last seen at the Turning Point Grocery Store in Dillon, South Carolina on July 22, 1993 with her little brother and hasn't been seen since. Her stepfather, Sam Harmon was the last one to see Shakeima and he says that he left her & her little brother at the store.
In August of 2005, Sam was charged with murder, kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct with a minor in connection with Shakeima's case. In 2008, he was convicted of kidnapping, but not murder and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
In 1992, Shakeima accused Sam of inappropriate touching, but charges weren't filed against him because of lack of evidence, plus Shakeima's story changed several times.
At the time of her disappearance, Shakeima was close to her brother & grandmother and she would've contacted them if she could.
At Sam's trial in October 2008, an uncle of Shakeima says that two weeks before she disappeared, Sam told him ways he could dispose of a dead body. There's no physical evidence to prove Shakeima's dead, but Sam maintains his innocence in her disappearance.
Due to the circumstances involved, foul play is suspected in Shakeima's disappearance, but her relatives believed that Shakeima's still alive and her remains have never been found.
Shakeima had a double tooth on the upper side of her mouth and moles near the corner of her mouth & below her neck.
